Some Things You Might Want to Know
Can I movie in immediately?
We are very flexible regarding an entry date. Tell us when you’d like to take possession and I’m sure we can come to an arrangement.
Is the price negotiable?
The house surveyed at £100,000. We’re happy to consider all sensible offers around that price.
What facilities are there nearby?
There’s a pub with great food in the village. The Ugadale hotel attracts golfers and holiday makers and has a well equipped spa. A mile or so south takes you to Lossit Point and The Gauldrons, areas of outstanding beauty. You can go birdwatching in the Bird and Wildlife Observatory and go seal spotting on the beach. Campbeltown is only five miles away. There you will find two supermarkets, cafes, doctors, dentists, a small hospital and all the facilities expected in a small town. There is a reliable bus service between Machrihanish and Campbeltown.
How do I get there?
There are regular buses from Glasgow to Campbeltown and two flights a day between Glasgow airport and Campbeltown which boasts one of the longest runways in Europe.
But isn't Scotland cold all the time?
Well, we might not get the hot temperatures of the Mediterranean, but our winters are very, very mild. We’ve had no frosts since we moved here and we have a fuchsia that overwinters in the garden. In fact, many of the gardens boast palm trees.
If living in Machrihanish is so good, why are you moving?
My mum is now in a care home north of Aberdeen and I miss her terribly. I want to move closer so I can spend more time with her while I still can.
OK, you’ve convinced me. Who do I talk to about buying your house?
Firstly, Yay! Secondly, you can contact the estate agent here.
